A guys brain was internally bleeding and he went crazy on a plane. the other passengers thought he was trying to high jack it and after they had stopped him from opening the plane door they beat him up and killed him. In the episode they only had a limited amount of time to evaluate the crime scene, but can a plane really pick up and go if it is a crime scene?

The investigators have the right to investigate the scene for as long as it takes. However since it is a plane the crime scene can move but they would have to move with it to keep evaluating it. Because the plane itself was not used in the crime such as a car is used in a hit and run they can not keep it grounded for as long as they want(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_scenes).
